Having a great sign-up page for your webinar event can either make or break the number of those who decide to register. Here, we have provided a few simple tips on the Do’s and Don’ts of how to improve your sign-up/event registration pages.

DO’S:

Keep it Simple

When it comes to sign-up pages, keep the facts simple – who, what, where, and when. Sticking to the key information will allow users to understand the purpose and how to register right away. Make sure that the time and dates are clearly stated along with the correct page locations. Always double check your information – as the wrong information will lead to confusion and possibly an unsuccessful event.

Use Videos and Images

People use their eyes to help make decisions. Be sure to create a page that is full of information and visually stimulating. Use specific images that are related to the theme of the webinar, rather than a generic image. Consider posting a teaser video prior to the webinar event. This will build more interest with users as well as increase your registration numbers.

Register Users

Once you have created a synopsis for the webinar event, the main goal is to grab the viewer’s attention and register prospects and clients. Make sure that the registration form is embedded near the top of the page rather than being difficult to find. The form must be visually attractive in order to direct user’s attention.

DON’TS:

Write an Entire Novel

A registration page with more than enough information can distract users from your main goal and may even bore them. Keep the page simple and stick to the main goals of the page. Go register!

Add Long Forms

Once you have grabbed the reader’s interest, be sure to keep the form short and simple. Long forms can cause viewers fall out of the internet and lower registration numbers. Limit the necessary fields to no more than six for your CRM tools and data models.

Include Broken Links

While this is quite obvious, it is also the most important thing to remember for your sign-up page. If the links on your page are incorrect or broken, there is no way for users to even try to register for your webinar event. Take the extra time to double-check your links before launching the page. Make sure the calendar reminders are also correct on the confirmation page. Otherwise, people may login to your web event at the wrong date or time.
